    EMERGENCY OVERVIEW
Contact with combustible material may cause fire.Hygroscopic.

    Potential Health Effects
    Eye:
    Dust may cause mechanical irritation.
    Skin:
    May cause skin irritation.
    Ingestion:
May cause digestive tract disturbances. Methemoglobinemia is
characterized by dizziness, drowsiness, headache, breath shortness,
cyanosis with bluish skin, rapid heart rate and chocolate-brown
colored blood. May cause blood abnormalities. This product contains
    nitrite which may cause methemoglobinemia.
    Inhalation:
    May cause respiratory tract irritation.
    Chronic:
    None

    **** SECTION 4 - FIRST AID MEASURES ****

    Eyes:
Flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes,
occasionally lifting the upper and lower eyelids. Get medical aid
    immediately.
    Skin:
Get medical aid. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water for at
least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash
    clothing before reuse.
    Ingestion:
If victim is conscious and alert, give 2-4 cupfuls of milk or water.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical
    aid immediately.
    Inhalation:
Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. If not breathing,
give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.
    Get medical aid.
    Notes to Physician:
    Treat symptomatically and supportively.

    **** SECTION 5 - FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ****

    General Information:
As in any fire, wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in
pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full
protective gear. Strong oxidizer. Contact with combustible materials
may cause a fire. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases
may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Some
oxidizers may react explosively with hydrocarbons(fuel). Containers
may explode when heated. May explode from heat or contamination.
    Extinguishing Media:
Use water only! Contact professional fire-fighters immediately. Cool
containers with flooding quantities of water until well after fire is
out. Do NOT use dry chemicals, CO2, Halon or foams.

    **** SECTION 6 - ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ****

General Information: Use proper personal protective equipment as indicated
    in Section 8.
    Spills/Leaks:
Clean up spills immediately, observing precautions in the Protective
Equipment section. Avoid generating dusty conditions. Remove all
sources of ignition. Provide ventilation. In case of spill, sweep up
solid or absorb liquid with inert material, then place into a
    biohazard container. Wear protective equipment.

    **** SECTION 7 - HANDLING and STORAGE ****

    Handling:
Wash thoroughly after handling. Use with adequate ventilation.
Minimize dust generation and accumulation. Avoid contact with eyes,
skin, and clothing. Avoid contact with clothing and other combustible
materials. Avoid ingestion and inhalation. Do not ingest or inhale.
    Storage:
Keep away from heat, sparks, and flame. Do not store near
combustible materials. Keep under an argon blanket. Store in a cool,
dry, well-ventilated area away from incompatible substances. Keep
    containers tightly closed.

    **** SECTION 8 - EXPOSURE CONTROLS, PERSONAL PROTECTION ****

    Engineering Controls:
Use adequate ventilation to keep airborne concentrations low.
    Personal Protective Equipment

    Eyes:
Wear appropriate protective eyeglasses or chemical
safety goggles as described by OSHA's eye and face
protection regulations in 29 CFR 1910.133 or European
    Standard EN166.
    Skin:
Wear appropriate protective gloves to prevent skin
    exposure.
    Clothing:
Wear appropriate protective clothing to prevent skin
    exposure.
    Respirators:
Follow the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29CFR
1910.134 or European Standard EN 149. Always use a
NIOSH or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator
    when necessary.
